Spring Cleaning

Every spring, households and business alike undergo some form of spring cleaning. Normally it's things like cleaning out the garage, getting rid of cobwebs and making room in the closet.
Here are some tips this Spring to give your home and office the best cleaning:

*Cleaning Windows: instead of using a towel or newspaper to clean those dirty windows, try using a squeegee. Just fill a bucket with soapy water, dampen squeegee and wipe away the dirt, then dry with a cloth. If you need those high to reach windows in your office cleaned you can count on TBCC and their expert window washing services

* Protect your floors and give your carpet a deep cleaning: guard against scratches and other scuff marks by making sure there are surface protectors. If you do have a stain or floor that needs to be cleaned in your office, The Business Cleaning Company offers exceptional floor cleaning services for a number of different types of flooring.

*Dusting: Give the furniture a good dusting with a microfiber cloth, and for those hard to reach places a good lambs wool duster should do the trick

*Power washing: get ready for those outdoor BBQ's by giving your deck or driveway a good power washing. If your business could benefit from a good power wash, TBCC offers power washing services to fit your business needs

*Remember to restock your cleaning supplies

If you find your office or business needs a good Spring Cleaning, contact The Business Cleaning Company and let us do the work for you.

Going Green in the work place

With the fast paced lives that we all lead today, it is hard to go green. In our blog today we will be going over some ways that you can go green effortlessly in your office.

• Commute to work. With the rise in gas prices, wouldn’t it be nice to save some green while going green. Try taking public transportation to work or even biking or carpooling.

• We all need that morning cup of coffee or smoothie in the morning to jump start our day. This time before you grab that plastic or throw away cup, think about getting yourself a reusable cup. They have so many to choose from these days, you are sure to find the right fit for you.

• Maybe put up a little green while going green. Get some small indoor plants. If you happen to have an office with a nice window put up some plants by the window and let the sun shine through. If you have a cubicle, then research plants that don’t need direct sunlight.

• Instead of rushing for the elevator, try taking the stairs. Doing this can not only increase your everyday energy consumption it is good exercise.

• A big difference you could make in the work place and save some green while doing it is printing less. Save money and trees while printing less. If you happen to print too many copies or make a mistake when printing make sure to have a recycling bin next to the printer.

• Always make it a practice of turning off the lights when no one is in the room. Turning off your computers in the office at night and the power strip, can save energy also.

• The restrooms are another place you can go green. By using one at a time towel dispensers it can cut down on the excess use and waste of paper towels.

At The Business Cleaning Company, we strive to go green not only in our own office but by helping our clients go green as well. TBCC can provide a variety of towel and soap dispensers to save our clients green and help them go green.

The Truth about Hand Sanitizers

With school starting, the thought on every parents mind is germs, germs, germs! In this day and age of eating on the go, and everything being so fast paced hygiene may not always be on the fore front of peoples mind. So some people opt for the quick and easy way and just use hand sanitizer. But sometimes hand sanitizer may not only be enough. When you have visible dirt or other bodily fluids on their hands, hand sanitizers are not enough. The combination of hand washing and hand sanitizers can be a deadly force against germs.

Reducing Cross Contamination With The Help of Paper Products

With the rise of health threats and antibiotic resistant infections, the prevention of cross contamination is of even greater importance now. Janitorial Service companies have a responsibility and obligation to provide quality and professional cleaning services in the areas that they clean.

In the past towels are used by janitors to clean surfaces that have been potentially contaminated with infectious bodily fluids. With the cross over to paper products, it will help reduce the contamination to those who come in contact with those who are utilizing the facility.

Janitorial Service companies now more than ever are focusing on the prevention of cross contamination with the help of paper products. At the Business Cleaning Company we provide janitorial  services that help reduce the cross contamination for your health.

Getting Rid of Dust Mites

Although dust mites do not attack the human body directly, their presence can trigger an allergic reaction causing great discomfort to those who are susceptible to them. In fact, it is not the dust themselves that cause the problem as much as the protein found in their remains and in their excreta, namely DER p1.

Sometimes, normal carpeting cannot remove the remains of dust mites and that is why commercial carpet cleaning needs to be called in.  The fibers of most carpets have a rough fibrous surface that hold dust mites within the pile even when a normal vacuum cleaner is used to suck them out. Only a commercial  carpet cleaner coupled with specialist cleaning agents can do a proper job of removing them almost completely, the operative term here is 'almost completely' because dust mites are impossible to entirely eradicate.

Let's look at the best strategy is for keeping your office as free of dust mites as possible.

  • Use a commercial carpet cleaning service that regularly cleans carpets and schedules the use of a hot steam process at least every six months in conjunction with appropriate pesticides.
  • Eliminate as much dust from the environment as possible from things like shelving and desks which can accumulate dust in large amounts if left unattended. This means that the cleaning contract should involve cleaning all office equipment especially hidden shelves and the tops of books or folders which may be left unused for long periods of time.
  • Look at the possibility of installing air cleaners which will rid the air of dust before it can settle into the carpet.

3 Ways Commercial Carpet Cleaners Work!

There are three methods most commonly used by commercial carpet cleaners. I am sure there are more, but the others I have seen are simply variations of the three we will talk about.

The first and most common method used by commercial carpet cleaners is extraction. This method can also be called hot water extraction or steam cleaning. This method sprays a low pressure mixture onto your carpet and the a wand extracts, or pulls back up the solution into a tank. Most people prefer a hot water extraction, that is the water is heated before it is used to clean your carpets.

The second method commonly used by commercial carpet cleaners is called bonnet cleaning. This is where a technician will pre-spray your carpets and then bring a low speed buffer and run this over your floors. This method works well on surface dirt, but cannot get deep down dirt and other foreign matter.

A third method used by commercial carpet cleaners is called dry cleaning. There is a manufacturer that calls their chemical H.O.S.T. You will probably hear people refer to this as the host method. The chemical is actually a damp powder that looks similar to wet saw dust. This is sprinkled over the carpet and allowed to set in for ten to fifteen minutes. Then it is vacuumed up. One of the only advantages to this method is drying time. It will typically take ten to fifteen minutes to dry after the powder is vacuumed up.
